Job summary

The IMF Communications Department Publishing Division seeks a technology‑savvy publishing professional to modernize publishing practices using AI-enabled workflows. You will lead editorial projects, including the Annual Report of the Executive Board, coordinating with management, speechwriters, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality content and timely publication.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in Communications, International Relations, Languages, or related field; or a university degree with at least six years of relevant experience; or two years at grade A08 or equivalent.
• Experience in emerging technologies related to editing, publishing, communications, knowledge management, or related fields.
• Experience using AI-enabled or other digital publishing tools.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation chatbot design and deployment.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex editorial, publishing, or communications projects.
• Strong experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and balancing competing priorities.
• Experience with publication-production processes, editorial workflows, and quality control procedures.
• Familiarity with digital publishing platforms, content-management systems, and publication-production technologies.
• Possess a growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
• Experience in an international organization or similar environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Duties include modernizing IMF publishing practices, identifying and deploying emerging technologies to improve workflow efficiency and accessibility, and translating tech developments into practical publishing solutions.
• Oversee the Annual Report of the Executive Board, coordinating development, review, production, and dissemination.
• Coordinate complex, institution-wide review processes involving multiple offices and committees.
• Ensure editorial quality assurance, including copyediting, proofreading, fact-checking, and accessibility reviews, including AI-generated content evaluation.
• Coordinate design, translation, digital publishing, printing, and vendor-delivery activities.
• Monitor budgets, contracts, and expenditures for assigned projects.
• Serve as editor, project manager, or publishing advisor for flagship publications and other institutional outputs.
