Job summary

The Drum is seeking an Editorial Operations Manager to architect and optimize the systems, workflows and technology powering its editorial organization. This strategic, cross-functional role sits at the intersection of editorial, product, technology, data and AI-enabled workflow design.

You will design scalable workflows, oversee AI-assisted processes and collaborate with editorial leadership, product, engineering, audience, commercial and events teams to enable faster, smarter content

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in editorial operations or related roles.
• Experience designing and improving operational workflows in media/publishing.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.
• Experience working cross-functionally with editorial, technology, product and business stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical mindset with data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable editorial workflows across daily journalism, events, video, podcasts, newsletters and more.
• Oversee AI-assisted content processes and editorial infrastructure.
• Partner with editorial leadership, product, engineering, audience, commercial and events teams.
• Develop governance frameworks for responsible AI usage and workflow automation.
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
