Job summary

Clay seeks a Data Science Manager to lead the Data Science and Analytics team, shaping strategy with data and driving decisions across Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Partnerships.

You’ll partner with executives and mentor data scientists to elevate insights from Monty, our in-house AI agent, across the business. This role blends technical depth with strategic storytelling and cross-functional influence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing data scientists and/or analytics engineers; 6+ years in data science or analytics with impact on product decisions.
• Strong depth in experimentation, analytics, statistics, data modeling, and metric design; coach senior ICs to high standards.
• Expertise in product or growth data science; skilled with user funnels in B2B/B2C.
• Stakeholder management with senior leaders across Product, GTM, and Finance.
• Proven ability to influence product roadmaps and connect data work to business outcomes.
• Excellent data storytelling and clear communication; empathetic collaborator.
• Experience growing teams: hiring, coaching, and developing senior ICs.
• Excitement about AI-native ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Data Science and Analytics team; recruit, interview, onboard, and set shared standards.
• Set the technical bar for experimentation, analysis, insights, and data modeling; stay at AI data frontier.
• Ensure the team focuses on impactful work that informs decisions and moves Clay forward.
• Staff and prioritize across partner areas to support key stakeholders with high impact.
• Directly influence product and business strategy using data; shape internal narrative with metrics.
• Define and champion key business and product metrics; instrument and monitor them.
• Develop deep empathy for users by collaborating with UXR and customer feedback teams.
