Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Newton, MA to lead a data-focused software engineering team. You will shape architecture, guide tech decisions, and collaborate with data scientists and governance to build scalable information management solutions.

You will design Python-based ETL pipelines, REST API integrations, and implement modern data platforms while ensuring quality and reliability. This hybrid role offers health benefits and a strong focus on career growth.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related field; 5+ years of experience (or Master’s with 3+ years).
Experience with healthcare domain and data pipelines.
Experience creating Python ETL scripts and REST API integrations.
Strong knowledge of relational and graph databases; PostgreSQL and graph DBs.
DevOps practices: CI/CD, Agile delivery; code reviews and testing.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with technical leaders to define and deliver data solutions.
Provide technical leadership in architecture and strategic tech decisions.
Design and implement applications using AWS, Elasticsearch, React, Python; integrate ML where applicable.
Develop and maintain robust ETL processes and data migrations.
Ensure performance, reliability, and adherence to enterprise standards.
