Job summary

Capital Group is seeking an Engineering Manager in the Enterprise Data Office to lead the data and AI initiatives that power the business. The role builds the governing data products used by CGMC and executive offices, combining hands-on leadership with a clear technical vision.

You will shape the founding engineering team for CBI, hire and coach engineers, and set operating models for AI agents shipping alongside humans. Based in Southern California, with time across LA and Irvine offices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building full-stack data products end-to-end in a modern lakehouse stack with React UI experience.
• Direct experience embedding LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, and agents into data engineering workflows.
• Hands-on technical leader or engineering manager for a high-performing team.
• Production data platforms end-to-end — SLAs, data quality, CI/CD, incident response.

Responsibilities

• Hands-On AI-Native Data Product Delivery (40%)ship data and intelligence across consumption points.
• Engineering Vision, Solution Design, and AI for Data (30%)define data product design and AI integration in the stack.
• Team Leadership and Growth (20%)build, hire, and coach a diverse engineering team.
• Partnership and Enterprise Engagement (10%)represent engineering voice in enterprise forums and collaborate with stakeholders.
