Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a highly technical Data Engineer embedded in PDST to design, build, and operate production-grade data pipelines powering AI/ML, analytics, and automation across CMC and manufacturing. You will harmonize data from MES, LIMS, QMS, ERP, and instrument sources into reliable, governed assets for scientists and engineers.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing enterprise-grade data pipelines across multi-source environments.
• Experience with cloud data platforms and modern data stack components.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks and automation.
• Strong SQL across analytics and transactional databases.
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, robust data ingestion pipelines that connect CMC and manufacturing source systems.
• Develop harmonized data models and ontologies for enterprise data standards.
• Implement data quality controls, validation, and anomaly detection.
• Build governance artifacts including data lineage documentation and metadata infrastructure.
• Deliver governed data products for AI/ML consumption including feature stores and datasets.
• Contribute to cloud-based data platform, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Engage with scientists and engineers to translate data requirements into robust solutions.
