Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field plus 2 years' experience, or a master's with 0 years.
• Experience designing enterprise-grade data pipelines, integration workflows, and data products.
• Expert proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks.
• Strong SQL skills across analytical and transactional databases.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern data stack tools.
• ETL/ELT tooling experience (Informatica, Talend, Apache NiFi, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory).
• MDM, metadata management, and data cataloging experience.
• API standards for REST/GraphQL/OData and microservices integration.
• Data modeling with Erwin/PowerDesigner/dbt.
• Ownership mindset and bias for impact.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data ingestion pipelines connecting source systems to central environments.
• Build connectors and integration layers for heterogeneous data formats and protocols.
• Support batch and real-time data patterns with appropriate architectures.
• Develop harmonized data models and ontologies across sites and modalities.
• Execute semantic mapping to enterprise data standards and scientific meaning.
• Ensure data quality, observability, and governance with lineage and documentation.
• Deliver governed data products for AI/ML, including feature stores and datasets.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to translate model needs into data infrastructure.
• Contribute to cloud-based platform design, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Provide operational support and ensure data freshness and reliability.
