Job summary

Plante Moran seeks an AI‑Native Data Engineer to design and operate scalable data pipelines in a Microsoft‑centric environment, enabling analytics and AI readiness. You’ll implement Medallion Architecture, ingest data from APIs and enterprise systems, and build transformations in Python/PySpark while collaborating with architects to turn complex requirements into trusted data products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required.
• 2–4 years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or software development.
• Strong SQL and Python for data transformation and pipelines; PySpark/Spark experience.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse/Data Engineering/Pipelines) and Azure Data Factory; Azure exposure.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate automated, repeatable data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric and Azure with observability.
• Implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) to publish trusted data products for analytics/AI.
• Ingest data from APIs and enterprise systems into lakehouses and Azure SQL-based stores; model data for AI features.
• Develop transformations using Python/PySpark/Spark and SQL/T-SQL.
• Experience with AI agentic workloads or interest in learning agent-based patterns.
• Use Git and CI/CD for source control, reviews, and deployments; leverage AI tools to accelerate delivery.
