Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking an Intern - Compute System Compatibility Engineer in Boise, ID. You will support Linux/Windows/UEFI environments, assist memory validation, and help build automation under experienced mentorship.

You will gain hands-on lab experience with DRAM, BIOS, firmware interactions, and AI-enabled workflows while contributing to a three-month summer project with defined milestones and a final presentation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Must be able to continue education in the fall term following the internship.
• Foundational knowledge of computer hardware, OS, and architecture; problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Set up and support Intel, AMD, and ARM-based systems in Linux, Windows, and UEFI environments.
• Build or refine automation using Python, PowerShell, or C++ and validate with logs and tests.
• Reproduce, triage failures, collect logs, and assist corrective actions.
• Collaborate across teams and document findings and next steps clearly.
• Complete a bounded technical internship project with milestones and a final presentation.
