Anthropic is seeking a Research Scientist to bridge computational biology with frontier AI. You will join the Life Sciences team and work on high-impact projects combining AI with biological discovery.

You will drive end-to-end analyses from large-scale data to experiments, collaborate with biologists, and help shape AI-driven biology using Claude. This role offers breadth and flexibility in a world‑class research environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, biophysics, ML, CS, or related field.
• Led computational biology research end-to-end with demonstrated impact.
• Breadth across multiple areas of computational biology.
• Proficient in programming languages for scientific computing; comfortable with Linux & cloud.
• Able to scope ambiguous questions into actionable analyses for experiments.
• Ability to communicate results clearly to biologists and ML researchers.

Responsibilities

• Build, run, and maintain analysis pipelines for large-scale biological data.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists to design high-quality experiments.
• Leverage literature and knowledge bases to generate hypotheses.
• Maintain computational infrastructure and data workflows.
• Utilize Claude and internal agent frameworks in research and model improvement.
• Tackle multiple projects with breadth and flexibility.
