Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Engineer for its Beneficial Deployments team in San Francisco. You will work closely with researchers and partners to scale Claude's impact in life sciences, prototyping agents, and building infrastructure that supports research-to-production workflows.

You’ll collaborate with HHMI and Allen Institute partners, deliver end-to-end implementations, and help drive the ecosystem-level tooling that makes Claude broadly usable in academia and industry.

Qualifications

• Deep research experience in life sciences or biomedical research.
• Experience building or deploying tools with large language models (LLMs).
• Hands-on production software engineering experience across complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with life sciences researchers and engineers to integrate Claude into workflows.
• Build reusable ecosystem infrastructure and agent skills for broad adoption.
• Identify deployment challenges (data heterogeneity, auditability) and feed insights to product/engineering.
• Create technical content and documentation to enable partners to self-serve.
