Job summary

deskbird is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to partner with the founders, own the equity story, and lead fundraising and capital markets strategy.

You will build an AI-first, lean finance and operations function, drive profitability, manage multi-entity European structure, cap table, and investor relations. This role sits at board level from day one, with strong emphasis on scalable processes and value creation.

Qualifications

• Experience in PE/M&A or investment banking with operating scaling company exposure.
• Fluent in finance processes for B2B SaaS, ARR/NRR metrics and cashflow.
• Proven fundraising experience and liquidity-event exposure.
• Hands-on, founder-level ownership mindset and value creation.
• Based in/near one of our European hubs; strong English; German preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the equity story and manage fundraising readiness with founders and board.
• Lead profitability plan with driver-based planning and capital allocation.
• Build an AI-first finance and operations function with lean governance.
• Provide commercial insights for GTM and product, pricing, and unit-economics.
• Oversee international structure, transfer pricing, and tax efficiency.
• Maintain cap table and investor-grade financials, including SaaS revenue recognition.
• Lead board and investor relations and reporting cadence from day one.
• Oversee treasury, FX, runway planning, audits, procurement and risk.
