Job summary

NXP Semiconductors, in the ACE organization, seeks a Sr Principal AI/ML driven ASIC Design and Implementation Automation Expert in San Diego, CA. You will explore AI/ML CAD techniques, prototype solutions, and drive automation for SoC and IP design across sites.

You will work with AI/ML experts, academia, and internal teams to improve power, performance, area, and quality in automotive processors and microcontrollers. Strong software, HDL knowledge, and collaborative skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related disciplines with strong SW background.
• Hands-on programming in Python/C++, 7+ years of AI/ML techniques (LLMs, CNN, RNN, GraphNN) applied to optimization problems.
• Data structures, algorithms, and SW development for optimization problems.
• Unix/Linux experience, revision control (Git, BitBucket), SW development and debugging tools.
• Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and strong verbal/written communication.

Responsibilities

• Explore AI/ML CAD techniques to advance VLSI design and implementation automation.
• Develop prototype solutions to evaluate state-of-the-art AI/ML methods for NXP designs.
• Collaborate with Architecture, IP & SoC design, verification and implementation teams across sites.
• Coordinate with AI/ML and automation experts to drive Digital Transformation initiatives.
