Job summary

Stripe is seeking an experienced Accounting professional to join the AI-enabled accounting team in Seattle. You will shape Stripe's financial story by building AI-powered tools and autonomous agents that automate complex accounting workflows while maintaining rigorous internal controls.

This role collaborates with engineering and finance to scale Stripe’s accounting capabilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 4+ years in accounting related or adjacent roles
• B.A. or B.S degree in Accounting, Finance, Finance Systems or Information Systems
• Fluency in U.S. GAAP
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries, using CTEs and window functions
• Familiarity with modern data tools (Python, Databricks, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines) and coding with AI assistance
• Comprehensive understanding of AI fundamentals and experience with emerging AI/LLM tools, conversational interfaces, prompt engineering, or automation platforms and RPA
• Solution and results-oriented, with a focus on delivering impact in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey financial concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences
• Experience with internal controls (design, implementation and execution)

Responsibilities

• Apply accounting and finance domain expertise to identify opportunities where AI can solve complex accounting challenges
• Build AI-powered tools to automate accounting workflows and enhance controllership
• Design and deploy autonomous AI agents to reason, plan, and execute complex problems in finance
• Ship and maintain data products and self-service analytics tools providing real-time insights
• Collaborate with Accounting and partner teams to translate financial workflows into technical solutions
• Partner with Accounting and SOX teams to develop effective internal controls for AI-based accounting solutions
