Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Manager to shape enterprise AI strategy from Houston or Akron. You will drive governance, adoption, and measurable improvements across manufacturing and corporate functions, partnering with executives and tech leaders to deliver scalable AI solutions.

The role requires a strong record in leading AI/automation initiatives, mastery of change management, and a passion for driving business value through data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in IT, data analytics, digital transformation, or manufacturing tech domains.
• 5+ years leading complex tech/automation/transformation initiatives across multiple business areas.
• 3+ years directly supporting AI, advanced analytics, automation, or digital transformation programs.
• 2+ years leading teams, programs, or cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience implementing AI, ML, automation, or data-driven solutions in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead Quanex's enterprise AI strategy, roadmap, governance, and adoption programs.
• Identify, prioritize, and implement AI opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and customer outcomes.
• Partner with business, manufacturing, and IT leaders to translate challenges into scalable tech solutions.
• Lead AI initiatives across production planning, predictive maintenance, quality inspection, and shop floor productivity.
• Establish governance, policies, and responsible AI practices to ensure security and compliance.
• Oversee pilots, proofs of concept, vendor evaluations, and deployment planning.
• Drive organizational change management, stakeholder engagement, and adoption measurement.
