PingWind, Inc. in Rockville, MD seeks an AI DevOps Engineer focused on AI/ML to support AHRQ’s strategy.

You will ensure quality and reliability of applications, develop reusable code, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver software and infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in IT or Computer Science and 10+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML engineering, deployment, security, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• 10+ years of relevant experience in AI/ML engineering, deployment, and monitoring
• Experience with AI/ML models, generative AI, and large language models
• Knowledge of AI solution architecture and systems engineering
• Prototyping, testing, and evaluating AI/ML capabilities
• Ability to integrate AI/ML within cloud, application, and infrastructure environments
• Focus on responsible AI, information security, and privacy
• Experience with version control and build systems
• Experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure) and DevOps practices

Responsibilities

• Create and support CI pipelines for AI/DevOps workflows
• Manage server and network configuration and maintenance in the client environment

PingWind is seeking an AI DevOps Engineer with a strong emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to join the PingWind team supporting Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ) Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning strategy in Rockville, MD. As an AI DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of AHRQ applications and products. Your responsibilities will include providing application and feature development by coordinating with developers, developing reusable code to enable rapid development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software and infrastructure to our stakeholders and users.

Responsibilities

• Create and support effective continuous integration pipelines
• Implement, install, upgrade, troubleshoot, and manage the configuration and maintenance of servers and networks within the client's environment
• Collaborate with various groups to manage all aspects of the systems, including but not limited to troubleshooting, configuration, DNS, hostnames, networking, Web service client configuration, VM installation / patches / upgrades, deployment, dynamic and static analysis tools, and Incident Management
• Collaborate with stakeholders and users in requirement development activities
• Provide application and feature development and infrastructure, working with the Software Architect to plan projects for the team
• Coordinate with Developers and DBAs during development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of applications
• Participate in Agile scrum ceremonies to facilitate development and hold team accountable to product roadmap
• Develop reusable code to automate processes and enable rapid development
• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices
• Monitor infrastructure and application performance
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards
• Implement security and data protection measures
• Document technical specifications and development processes
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends
• Provide cross training and mentorship for the team on industry standards and best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
• 10 years of relevant experience
• Artificial intelligence and machine learning engineering
• Generative AI and large language models
• AI solution architecture and systems engineering
• AI/ML prototyping, testing, evaluation, performance assessment, and monitoring
• Integration and deployment of AI/ML capabilities within approved cloud, application, and infrastructure environments
• Responsible AI, information security, privacy, documentation, and technical risk management
• 10 or more years building software from source, managing third party dynamic libraries, identifying build-time issues and incompatibilities
• 10 or more years of experience with Databases
• 10 or more years of experience with Web & Internet Technologies: HTML, XML, JSON, HTTP, CSS, SMTP, DNS, HTTP Cache Expires headers, REST services, OAuth 2, SSL Certificates
• 10 or more years of experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining local services (daemons)
• 10 or more years of experience with Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux, command-line shell; installation of software; packages; editors; configuration; revision control of configuration
• 10 or more years of experience with Scripting Languages: RUBY, SHELL, PERL, BASH, Powershell, Python
• 10 or more years of experience with Version Control Tools such as Git, TFS, CVS, SVN
• 10 or more years of experience configuring, managing, and supporting Application/Web Servers such as Apache HTTPD, NGINX, Java containers
• 10 or more years of experience with Cloud Build and Release Engineering / DevOps, (AWS, Azure)
• 10 or more years of experience with AWS Services: EC2, S3, CloudFront, Cloud Watch, SQS, ELB, , VPC, RDS, IAM, , Cloud Formation, , Cloud trail,
• 10 or more years of experience with Linux/Unix system-level tools such as LogRotate, Cron, user/group permissions model, services
• 10 or more years of experience in Support role, working with other application and Ops teams in resolving issues/incidents

Salary Range

$115k-$160K
