Job summary

PingWind is seeking a Lead AI Software Engineer in Rockville, MD to drive AI and ML initiatives supporting the AHRQ strategy. You will lead development, coordinate with PMs and Architects, and deliver scalable software while ensuring code quality and security.

The role emphasizes reusable code, Agile practices, and mentorship across teams. A Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience are required, with strong AI/ML and cloud deployment expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with AI/ML, Generative AI, and LLMs.
• AI solution architecture and systems engineering.
• AI/ML prototyping, testing, evaluation, performance assessment, and monitoring.
• Integration and deployment of AI/ML capabilities within approved cloud, application, and infrastructure environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide application and feature development leadership, working with the Technical PM and Solutions Architect to plan projects for the team.
• Coordinate and lead Developers and DBAs during development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise applications.
• Implement the AHRQ Artificial Intelligence strategy.
• Conduct Agile scrum ceremonies to facilitate development and hold team accountable to product roadmap.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and users in requirement development and BPR activities.
• Develop reusable code to enable rapid development.
• Support effective continuous integration pipelines.
• Write clean, efficient, and scalable code following best practices.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Document technical specifications and development processes.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Provide cross training and mentorship for developers on industry standards and best practices.

PingWind is seeking a Lead AI Software Engineer with a strong emphasis on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to join the PingWind team supporting Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ) Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning strategy in Rockville, MD. As a Lead AI Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of AHRQ applications and products. Your responsibilities will include providing application and feature development leadership, coordinating with developers, developing reusable code to enable rapid development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software to our stakeholders and users.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Salary Range

$125k-$175K
