Job summary

OpenRouter is building the central hub for AI developers with a Bay Area-based Community Lead who will steward the company’s Discord, grow engagement, and scale programs across social channels. You’ll work closely with DevRel and marketing to gather feedback, iterate on community tooling, and drive events that bring developers together.

The role emphasizes presence, trust, and building scalable systems, with a 80/20 digital-to-in-person focus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in community management or a closely related role.
• Experience running Discord communities at meaningful scale, including events, programs, and moderation.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs and their APIs; you can read and discuss model tradeoffs with developers.
• Strong written communication with a natural, human voice across Discord, Twitter/X, and Reddit.

Responsibilities

• Discord Stewardship: Own and run OpenRouter's Discord end to end; design events and challenges that keep the community engaged.
• Community Programs: Own and scale recognition programs for contributors and helpers; create new programs as the community grows.
• Moderation & Mod Team: Recruit, onboard, and support a team of community moderators; design non-monetary recognition.
• Community Pulse: Listen to how the community feels and report sentiment back to the team.
• Community Automations: Build automations that surface sentiment and trends at scale.
• In-Person Community Events: Partner with events team to enable local OpenRouter events.
• Social Presence: Extend energy to Twitter/X and other platforms.
• Product Feedback Loop: Synthesize feedback into actionable insights for product and design.
• Collaboration: Work with marketing and DevRel on campaigns and launches.
