Western & Southern Financial Group is seeking a high-impact Senior AI Developer to build and evolve Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications across the enterprise. You will combine GenAI development with business outcomes, mentoring junior developers while collaborating with business partners.

The role emphasizes full-stack capabilities, strong Python/SQL/React skills, and a drive to explore evolving AI capabilities to deliver tangible, production-ready features.

Qualifications

We are seeking a high-impact Senior AI Developer who combines hands-on GenAI development expertise with deep curiosity and a strong focus on business outcomes. This role centers on building and evolving Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications that integrate knowledge from documents, databases, and services to solve real problems across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have full-stack development experience, with strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and React. Deep familiarity with LLM prompting best practices is expected. They are driven by an instinct to explore-constantly staying attuned to evolving capabilities such as Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP), Gemini, or OpenAI's expanding toolsets and quickly translating that insight into tangible experiments and working features. Success in this role requires close engagement with business partners to extract and shape problems, the ability to mentor and elevate junior developers through shared practices and design patterns, and a strong sense of ownership from prototype through to production. This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, delivers with intent, and believes GenAI can change how people work. A can-do attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for problem-solving are essential. What you will do

• Designing and implementing the architecture and components of RAG-based applications, end-to-end.
• Integrate AI Solutions seamlessly into existing systems to enhance performance.
• Ensure robust deployment of AI applications in production environments, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues and implement necessary updates.
• Working in Agile methodology within cloud-based development environments such as Azure or AWS.
• Staying current on the rapidly changing landscape of LLM models and their surrounding APIs and frameworks.
• Working with technology and business teams (shared services, IT Engineers, solutions architects and other stakeholders) to understand business challenges and ways that generative AI can assist.
• Building and maintaining enterprise-grade automation with high security, performance, and resiliency.

Work Setting/Position Demands:

• Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
