Job summary

Tallgrass offers a Summer 2027 internship in Lakewood, Colorado, housed in our AI and Data Solutions team. Interns work alongside developers and data practitioners on structured, supervised assignments to learn patterns and contribute to real backlog and pilot work, with mentoring and review.

You will gain experience prototyping AI-enabled internal tools, performing data preparation, and writing tests while learning retrieval-augmented generation concepts and AI governance guidelines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in CS/AI/SE with expected graduation Dec 2026–May 2028.
• Coursework in programming, data, or introductory AI/ML concepts.
• Basic SQL or data concepts understood.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Join AI and Data Solutions on day-to-day tasks with mentoring.
• Prototype and develop AI-enabled internal tools and automations.
• Support evaluation, testing, integration, and documentation of AI workflows.
• Write unit/integration tests and document findings.
• Follow company AI governance guardrails.
