Position Summary

As an AI & Data Platform Engineer at Amplifi, you will design and build software systems that help organizations work effectively with their data and integrate AI into real business workflows. This role emphasizes strong software engineering fundamentals: writing production-quality code, designing reliable systems, and operating what you build.You’ll focus on building end-to-end systems that integrate applications, data pipelines, cloud services, and AI capabilities. You’ll apply existing AI services and APIs as part of larger software systems, ensuring they are reliable, secure, observable, and suitable for production use.

What You’ll Work On

• Designing and implementing backend services, APIs, and supporting systems
• Building, maintaining, and operating data pipelines that support analytics, applications, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Implementing batch and near-real-time data processing using managed cloud services Integrating AI services (such as LLM APIs, document processing, and automation tools) into broader software and data systems
• Applying patterns for AI-enabled systems, including prompt orchestration, retrieval-based integrations, evaluation, and guardrails
• Integrating cloud-managed services, third-party APIs, and internal platforms into cohesive solutions
• Ensuring systems meet expectations for reliability, performance, security, and observability.
• Collaborating with Amplifi consultants, AI specialists, and customer engineering teams to deliver practical, production-ready solutions
• Using AI-assisted development tools in daily engineering work and helping customers adopt them effectively.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience as a software engineer building and operating production systems.
• Solid fundamentals in system design, backend development, and API design.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Experience building and operating data pipelines and working with data platforms
• Practical experience integrating AI or automation services into applications, or strong interest in doing so.
• Comfort working in customer-facing environments and explaining technical decisions clearly.
• Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Developer Associate, or GCP Professional Cloud Engineer are strongly preferred.

Nice to Have

• Strong experience as a software engineer building and operating production systems.
• Solid fundamentals in system design, backend development, and API design.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Familiarity with data warehouses, data lakes, streaming, or event-driven architectures.
• Exposure to AI-enabled patterns such as retrieval-augmented generation, workflow automation, or agent-style systems.
• Consulting or professional services experience.
