Job summary

General Motors is seeking a data science intern to analyze production and quality data, develop AI-driven insights, and build data pipelines to improve AI and hardware process efficiency. You will work with Python, SQL, and analytics tools while collaborating with cross-functional teams in Warren and Milford, MI.

Ideal candidates are completing a degree in Data Science, CS, or Engineering and have coursework in ML, statistics, and data visualization.

Qualifications

• Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Coursework or project experience in Python, SQL, MATLAB, statistics, data visualization, or machine learning.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production, quality, equipment, test, and operational data to identify trends, bottlenecks, variation, and improvement opportunities.
• Apply statistical analysis, machine learning, anomaly detection, and other AI techniques to support predictive insights and process optimization.
• Develop data pipelines, analytical models, and automated workflows for engineering and production teams.
