General Motors LLC is seeking an AI/ML intern in Warren, Michigan, to perform cutting-edge research in smart manufacturing. You will build and deploy AI/ML models, explore GenAI and agentic AI, and collaborate with GM researchers and external partners.

The role emphasizes leadership, publishing, and practical strategies for GM's future factory operations. The ideal candidate pursues an advanced degree and has hands-on experience across ML/DL/LLMs, with strong programming and data skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of an advanced degree (PhD or Masters).
• Must be a current student in an eligible program.
• Proven track record deploying AI/ML models in research/production settings.
• Deep expertise across AI domains including ML, DL, LLMs, generative AI, world models, physics-based ML.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end AI development: data pipelines, training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring.

Responsabilités

• Build, validate, deploy, and scale AI/ML models for manufacturing research applications.
• Explore classical ML, deep learning, GenAI, LLMs, multimodal AI, agentic AI, World Models, and physics-based AI.
• Translate engineering problems into practical AI strategies and plans.
• Serve as technical authority on model development, data strategy, and responsible AI.
• Publish findings and present results to internal/external audiences.
• Collaborate with GM teams, contractors, and universities on research programs.
