Job summary

One Community Church is seeking a Data & AI Innovation Director to lead AI strategy, data governance, and privacy oversight across campus and virtual ministry. The role drives AI adoption, develops custom tools, and builds a volunteer team to execute data-driven ministry initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on AI fluency with executive judgment, confidentiality, and a heart for developing volunteers to turn technology into practical ministry outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with data management, reporting, analytics.
• Experience organizing information and creating reports to support decisions.
• Experience maintaining confidential information.
• Working knowledge of information security and privacy practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the AI Ministry strategy, roadmap, and budget, and report quarterly to leadership.
• Advise on AI opportunities, risks, and decisions for OCC.
• Build, train, and lead the Data and AI volunteer teams.
• Develop and update official AI and data policies, including privacy safeguards.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and summaries for leadership and ministry teams.
• Translate data into actionable information to guide ministry decisions.
• Oversee data quality, integrity, and security across church systems.
• Evaluate AI vendors, platforms, and tool licenses within budget.
