Job summary

Deepgram is seeking a governance-first analytics role focused on defining and enforcing metric definitions to support AI-driven decision making.

You will own the metric registry, implement definitions in the semantic layer, build data quality checks, verify AI agent outputs, and enable self-serve access for data and AI tools. This role requires 5+ years in analytics, strong SQL, and experience with dbt or LookML.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in analytics, analytics engineering, or a closely related field.
• Strong SQL, including comfort reverse-engineering undocumented transformation logic written by others.
• Direct ownership of a semantic or metrics layer in production — dbt, Cube, LookML, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicting metric definitions across functions and land a decision.
• Clear written communication. Most of your output is documentation others must trust without re-deriving it.
• Comfort deprecating and removing work that others built.
• Experience evaluating LLM or AI agent output against ground truth.
• Experience developing or contributing to a data catalog and/or lineage tooling

Responsibilities

• Own the metric registry and canonical definitions.
• Make definitions enforceable in semantic layer and catalog.
• Reduce surface area by auditing reporting assets.
• Build data quality checks and alert owners/agents.
• Verify AI agents against ground truth data.
• Enable self-serve access to governed data.
