Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking an AI / Data Engineer for the Data Discovery Services team in Princeton, NJ. You will build Python pipelines, enrich metadata, and publish to a discovery platform while advancing AI-powered retrieval and RAG-enabled data inventories.

The role emphasizes data engineering, search, and applied AI in a hands-on environment, collaborating with data scientists and engineers across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, information science, engineering, or related field.
• Experience delivering production data pipelines and software engineering work.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with strong data engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with Databricks and AWS Glue for pipelines and transformations.
• Familiarity with AWS services, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Python pipelines to pull metadata from data catalogs and publish to discovery platform.
• Tune search indexes and test queries to ensure relevant results for users.
• Develop semantic knowledge layer with vector embeddings for RAG and LLM contexts.
• Maintain integrations syncing ontology and taxonomy changes into the platform.
• Investigate data-pipeline issues across Databricks and AWS Glue and add data quality checks.
• Expose search capabilities via API endpoints and MCP servers for apps and agents.
