Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer - AI Data to join our distributed AI team. You will build and scale data pipelines powering model training and next-generation AI products, sourcing data, ensuring quality, and reducing costs.

You will collaborate with AI scientists, own projects end-to-end, and work in a fully remote environment with competitive compensation, bonus, and equity. The role emphasizes independence, initiative, and solving complex data challenges in a fast-growing company.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash in Linux environments.
• Experience building and operating production data pipelines or large-scale data processing.
• Strong problem-solving, initiative, and ability to work independently in ambiguous settings.

Responsibilities

• Discover new data sources and build reliable pipelines for training datasets.
• Develop and optimize large-scale data-processing systems for quality and cost.
• Collaborate with AI scientists to improve training datasets and models.
• Take ownership of projects from discovery to delivery and continuous improvement.
