Job summary

InterMed is seeking an AI Data Engineer to build the data foundation and AI-driven applications that automate clinical workflows and empower BI with Fabric and Power BI. You will work hands-on with EMR data, Python automation, and LLM tooling to modernize our data platform.

The role emphasizes HIPAA safeguards, data quality, and collaboration with IT and business partners to design scalable pipelines, modular models, and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with AI, data engineering, BI development, or data architecture.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering and data quality scripts.
• Advanced SQL skills with SQL Server/SSMS environments.
• Experience with AI coding assistants and AI tools to write, test, and document code.

Responsibilities

• Migrate BI workloads to Microsoft Fabric while maintaining existing SQL Server and SSIS workflows.
• Design and build data pipelines into Fabric OneLake from source systems (eClinicalWorks, payer and ACO files).
• Build and publish Power BI semantic models for Copilot and self-service analytics.
• Develop Python automation scripts and APIs to support data pipelines and apps.
• Ensure HIPAA/PHI safeguards and data quality controls across the platform.
• Evaluate and integrate LLM-powered tooling to accelerate data workflows.
