Job summary

Zappsec in Memphis is seeking Deployment Engineers to build and scale AI data center infrastructure, supporting new builds, expansions, and high-density compute deployments onsite. Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in deploying, operating, or supporting infrastructure in AI data centers or similar environments.
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting GPU servers, switches, storage systems, and cabling.
• Familiarity with AI data center cabling standards, rack layouts, labeling practices, and physical deployment best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware, cabling, Linux OS, and network connectivity.
• Proficiency with Linux command-line and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with scripting, automation workflows, or tooling for hardware validation.

Responsibilities

• Deploy AI data center infrastructure across new builds, expansions, refreshes, and high-density compute deployments.
• Rack, stack, cabling, labeling, and validating servers, PDUs, switches, storage systems, GPUs, and related hardware.
• Install and commission servers, switches, routers, storage systems, GPUs, and other components.
• Execute deployment workstreams using runbooks, cabling plans, rack elevations, port maps, checklists, and validation workflows.
• Validate vendor/contractor work against Client standards for rack, cabling, layout, and readiness.
• Run LLDP checks and network validation steps; use internal tools and scripts to confirm cabling readiness.
• Identify and resolve miswires, optic issues, hardware faults, provisioning blockers, and link inconsistencies.
• Troubleshoot hardware, cabling, Linux OS, and network issues during deployment activities.
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors to correct build quality issues and confirm completion of work.
• Support DCTrack, NetBox, inventory, asset tracking, and deployment documentation updates.
• Submit RMAs, track remote work requests, and manage shipping and inventory during deployments.
• Provide clear status updates on workstreams including blockers, risks, and ETA.
