Job summary

The Carlyle Group is seeking an AI & Data Architect to lead architectural initiatives across enterprise data and AI. You will design, govern, and evolve data platforms, semantic layers, and retrieval systems to support analysts, applications, LLMs, and copilots at scale.

In collaboration with domain teams, you will establish standards, drive governance, and mentor engineers while delivering pragmatic, AI-forward solutions within a federated operating model for the firm.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture or enterprise analytics.
• Hands-on experience architecting generative AI or AI/ML systems in production.
• Proven experience designing retrieval, grounding, and semantic layers for LLM- and agent-based apps.
• Experience with cloud-native data platforms on AWS or similar.

Responsibilities

• Define Carlyle’s target-state data and AI architecture and reusable patterns.
• Architect cloud-native, AI-ready data platform at enterprise scale.
• Shape data ingestion, transformation, storage, semantic layers, and retrieval.
• Lead architectural reviews and mentor engineers.
• Collaborate with Data Science and AI Engineering teams.
