Job summary

RAND's Center on AI, Security, and Technology (CAST) seeks a Research Lead to oversee advanced research budgets and multidisciplinary teams. You will manage projects evaluating AI models across the full attack lifecycle, including benchmarks for autonomous operations and attack graphs, working with government agencies on policy-driven analyses.

The role involves delivering detailed technical analyses and policy briefs to senior leaders.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of technical experience in security engineering, software engineering, firmware engineering, hardware engineering, or related fields.
• 6+ years of technical management experience, including leading cross-functional teams, managing project budgets, and mentoring and developing team members.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully lead complex projects to completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams of policy researchers, engineers, and scientists.
• Oversee complex technical research and policy analysis projects.
• Build systems to evaluate AI models across the full attack lifecycle.
