Job summary

Node.Digital is seeking an AI Subject Matter Expert to bridge AI innovation with practical cyber defense operations onsite in Arlington, VA. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship to support a U.S. Government customer with incident response and security initiatives.

You will define AI-enhanced security roadmaps, evaluate AI/ML use cases for threat detection, and collaborate with data science and security teams to deliver secure, compliant AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Must hold US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, CS, cybersecurity, information systems or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of directly relevant experience and 5+ years in cybersecurity or related roles.
• 3+ years working with AI/ML technologies or data-driven security solutions.
• 3+ years in project/program management or technical leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Define strategic vision for AI-enhanced security capabilities.
• Identify and evaluate AI/ML use cases for cyber defense, threat detection, incident response, and security operations.
• Assess emerging AI technologies for security applicability (anomaly detection, threat intel, automated response).
• Stay current on AI threat landscape and AI-powered attacks.
• Bridge communication between technical teams, security operators, and business stakeholders.
• Translate cybersecurity requirements into AI solution specifications.
• Evaluate AI/ML platforms, tools, and vendors for security applications.
• Define and advocate for AI prototyping or piloting initiatives as risk reduction measures.
• Collaborate with data science, security operations, and infrastructure teams on solution architecture.
• Develop roadmaps for AI cybersecurity initiatives with milestones and dependencies.
• Ensure AI roadmaps align with broader organizational strategies.
• Create project schedules, resource plans, and budget estimates.
• Lead cross-functional execution teams and track progress.
• Communicate with stakeholders and executives on AI security initiatives.
• Ensure AI implementations meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Understand model training, validation, and deployment pipelines in security contexts.
• Conduct readiness assessments for AI adoption within security operations.
• Design change management for AI tool integration into workflows.
• Develop success metrics and KPIs for AI security implementations.
• Create documentation and training materials.
