Job summary

Spring Health in New York City is seeking an AI Conversation Designer focused on empathetic, clinically valid conversations for our AI agents. You will shape language, tone, behavior, and interaction flows to drive meaningful behavior change and ensure a high-quality user experience across web and mobile.

You will partner with Clinical and Product teams to deliver writing-focused design, test prompts, refine prompts, and implement versioning with engineering. Hybrid in NYC, 2-3 days in office.

Qualifications

• Exceptional writing and editing skills with tone and clarity.
• Experience in Conversation Design, Content Design, UX Writing, Copywriting, or related field with a strong portfolio.
• Ability to articulate AI and design concepts to leadership.
• Curiosity and comfort using AI as a collaborator to improve workflows.
• Strong collaboration with engineering and clinical experts.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end human-AI interactions across web and mobile.
• Write, test, and refine conversational copy and AI prompts for empathetic responses.
• Partner with Clinical and Product teams to ensure clinically valid behavior change.
• Define conversational parameters and handle edge cases or hallucinations.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement prompt versioning and evaluate quality.
• Present conversational architecture and AI performance to executives.
