Job Title: AI Coding Tools & Pilots Consultant
Location(s): Chantilly, VA
Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced consultant to support the organization's AI transformation initiatives by driving the evaluation, deployment, adoption, and optimization of AI-powered coding tools and pilot programs. This role will serve as a bridge between engineering teams, AI platform teams, business stakeholders, and program leadership to ensure successful implementation and scaling of AI development solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in AI coding assistants, software development practices, platform evaluation, DevSecOps, user enablement, and pilot execution, with a strong focus on accelerating developer productivity and enterprise AI adoption.

Key Responsibilities
  • AI Coding Tools Evaluation & Implementation
    • Evaluate AI-powered coding tools and developer productivity platforms for enterprise adoption.
    • Configure, deploy, and optimize AI coding assistants within development environments.
    • Assess tool capabilities, security requirements, integration options, and business value.
    • Support implementation of AI coding solutions across multiple engineering teams.
    • Define best practices and standards for AI-assisted software development.
  • AI Pilot Program Management
    • Lead proof‑of‑concepts (POCs), pilot programs, and technology assessments for emerging AI solutions.
    • Develop pilot objectives, success criteria, evaluation frameworks, and adoption strategies.
    • Monitor pilot performance and provide recommendations for scaling or improvement.
    • Document lessons learned, risks, and implementation recommendations.
    • Partner with stakeholders to identify and prioritize AI use cases.
  • Developer Enablement & Adoption
    • Support onboarding of developers and technical teams to AI coding tools.
    • Deliver demonstrations, workshops, training sessions, and knowledge‑sharing activities.
    • Develop user guides, best practices, FAQs, and enablement materials.
    • Promote effective prompt engineering and AI‑assisted development techniques.
    • Drive user adoption through engagement, support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Platform Configuration & DevSecOps Support
    • Configure AI platforms, integrations, APIs, and supporting infrastructure.
    • Collaborate with DevOps and security teams to implement AI solutions within enterprise environments.
    • Support CI/CD integration, automation, access management, and governance controls.
    • Ensure AI tools comply with organizational security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
    • Participate in platform monitoring, maintenance, and operational support activities.
  • Release & Operational Support
    • Assist with release planning, deployment validation, and production readiness activities.
    • Troubleshoot platform, integration, and user issues related to AI tools and pilot environments.
    • Coordinate with vendors and internal support teams to resolve escalated issues.
    • Monitor adoption metrics, tool performance, and user feedback.
  • Governance & Continuous Improvement
    • Support AI governance initiatives, responsible AI practices, and risk management activities.
    • Develop standards, processes, and operational procedures for AI tool usage.
    • Identify opportunities to improve developer productivity, automation, and AI adoption.
    • Contribute to enterprise AI strategy and roadmap discussions.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in software engineering, developer enablement, platform engineering, DevOps, AI consulting, or related technical roles.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing developer productivity tools and enterprise software platforms.
  • Hands‑on experience with AI coding assistants and Generative AI technologies.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and modern development environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and consulting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AI coding platforms such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Amazon Q, Codeium, Windsurf, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI governance frameworks.
  • Experience leading technology pilots, proof‑of‑concepts, or innovation programs.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, and cloud‑native technologies.
  • AI, Cloud, DevOps, or Security certifications preferred.
