Job summary

Askable is seeking experienced software engineers to build AI coding tasks from a familiar codebase. You will transform real repository changes into tasks that challenge today’s AI models, with $1,000 paid per task that passes review.

This remote role lets you work from anywhere in the world, with a minimum of one task per week (about 10 hours). You’ll propose changes, implement them, write tests and rubrics, and ensure quality before submission.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Code merged into a public open-source repository or own private codebase.
• Strong in at least one of Python, TypeScript, Go, Rust, Java or C++.
• Solid with Docker, Linux, Git and automated testing.
• Regular use of an AI coding tool and ability to explain changes clearly.

Responsibilities

• Propose a change from a repository you know and submit a short proposal.
• Set up the repository as it was before the change, write the solution and the grading checks.
• Stress-test with lazy, incorrect and shortcut solutions and ensure checks catch them.
• Run tasks against AI models until strong models fail but a skilled engineer can solve it.
• Review results; revise tasks; start the next task.
