Job summary

The Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) in Brooklyn, NY, seeks a hands-on Computer Systems Manager to lead Java-based applications and deliver mission-critical city services.

You will architect AI-driven workflows, apply MCP and RAG tooling, automate DevOps tasks, and integrate cloud-native services, working closely with product owners and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions on time in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science with progressively responsible IT experience.
• Alternative: Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of IT experience as described.
• Alternative: High school diploma with 6+ years of IT experience and related supervision experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in a Java-based environment.
• Architect and implement AI-driven solutions including agentic AI workflows.
• Lead automation of DevOps tasks to improve deployment reliability and speed.
• Integrate cloud-native services and AI tooling into existing applications.
• Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver on time.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience with automation, AI components, and end-to-end delivery.
