Job summary

WelbeHealth is seeking a Senior AI Business Automation Project Manager, Health Plan Services, to lead modernization of eligibility and reconciliation through AI-enabled workflows and agent prototypes. This role partners with business and technical teams to translate healthcare processes into scalable automation solutions and deliver value across enrollment, eligibility, and reconciliation operations.

Qualifications

• Five-plus years of experience in a project management role, preferably in healthcare systems.
• Experience in regulated healthcare environments with health plan operations, eligibility, enrollment, or reconciliation systems (Medicaid/Medicare/commercial).
• Ability to use AI-assisted development tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to prototype and test AI agents/workflows; coding experience helpful but not required.
• Experience translating operational requirements into AI agent and automation solutions with business owners.
• Willingness to use low-code/no-code tools to integrate AI workflows with existing systems.

Role

The AI Business Automation Project Manager, Health Plan Services is responsible for delivering projects and driving operational and technology-enabled improvements within the Eligibility and Reconciliation team. This role partners with business and technical teams to translate healthcare processes into scalable solutions and builds AI agents and automation workflows that streamline eligibility, enrollment, and reconciliation operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive projects to successful implementation across Eligibility, Reconciliation, Claims, Network, and other health plan operations teams.
• Lead systems, tools, and technology improvements that support eligibility determination, enrollment, and reconciliation processes.
• Design, build, and deploy AI agents and automation workflows to reduce manual work and improve operational accuracy and efficiency.
• Use AI-assisted development practices (“vibe coding”) to rapidly prototype and deliver working tools.
• Partner with business owners and leadership to gather, document, and translate requirements into automation and agentic AI solutions, setting realistic expectations about capability, accuracy, and risk.
• Document project and automation logic for maintainability, handoff, refinement, and governance.
• Track and report project status, elevate issues as needed, organize resources, and manage resource allocation to meet deliverables.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivered projects meet business needs and improve the operational experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a project management role, ideally including healthcare systems.
• Prior experience in a regulated healthcare environment; experience with health plan operations, eligibility, enrollment, or reconciliation systems (Medicaid, Medicare, or commercial) strongly preferred.
• Comfortable exploring, designing, and building AI agents or automation workflows using AI platforms and tools; focus on practical business use cases rather than deep technical development.
• Experience working directly with business owners to gather, document, and translate operational requirements into AI agent and automation solutions.
• Ability and willingness to use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to prototype, test, and improve AI agents or workflow solutions; prior coding experience helpful but not required.
• Comfortable partnering with technical teams using low-code/no-code tools to integrate AI-enabled workflows with existing systems.
