Job summary

MaintainX is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead the AI Builder Tools team. You’ll drive a lean, high-autonomy group that makes MX engineers more productive through agentic tooling and autonomous coding agents that can open PRs with minimal hand-holding.

You will mentor engineers, define roadmaps for the SDLC platform, and collaborate with leadership to deliver scalable, observable, and secure tooling.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Software Development management experience.
• Strong foundation in developer tooling, CI/CD, containerization, and distributed systems.
• Experience with designing and leading platform engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of platform engineers, driving delivery, quality, and innovation on our agentic SDLC platform.
• Partner with Engineering Leadership to scope, plan, and deliver the infrastructure powering autonomous coding agents.
• Lead and mentor developers; grow skills in agent frameworks and platform engineering.
• Set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and support the team in achieving goals.
• Champion software development excellence—CI/CD, containerization, observability, and agent orchestration.
• Provide leadership with visibility on team impact, progress, and risks, including PR rates and adoption metrics.
• Collaborate with recruiting and other SDMs to hire and scale the platform team.
