Job summary

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Materials and Tests Division offers an Automation and Data Analysis Internship in Austin. You will support AI and automation initiatives, help streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting, and gain hands-on project experience working on real-world workflows.

You may also participate in materials testing activities and learn how automated systems improve efficiency and accuracy in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of basic artificial intelligence concepts.
• Experience or coursework in data analysis and data collection.
• Familiarity with research methodologies and data reporting.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Proficiency with standard office software and word processing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing AI and automation solutions for division workflows.
• Support automation of data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
• Disseminate information to the public and maintain records and logs.
• Perform entry-level administrative support tasks and receptionist duties as needed.
• Participate in laboratory materials testing activities as required.
