Job summary

Zekelman Industries is seeking an AI Intern to support digital transformation and process improvement across the organization. You will work with HR, Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, IT, and Marketing to analyze workflows and document opportunities for AI-enabled solutions.

This is an on-site role at the Wheatland Tube plant in Wheatland, PA, running May 24, 2027, to August 13, 2027. You will assist with documenting current processes, analyzing data, preparing process maps, and supporting pilots

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business, CS, Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
• Strong interest in AI, automation, process improvement, or digital transformation.
• Comfortable with data, documentation, and process-oriented tasks.
• Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, Visio/Lucidchart or similar tools preferred.
• Exposure to AI tools, automation platforms, or programming concepts is a plus.
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Document current-state business processes and identify inefficiencies or opportunities for improvement.
• Analyze workflows and data to inform AI, automation, or digitization initiatives.
• Prepare process maps, summaries, and presentations for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Assist with pilot projects related to automation and AI tools.
• Support training materials and internal communications for AI adoption.
• Track project progress and basic KPIs under guidance.
• Research emerging AI tools and share findings with the team.
