Job summary

Diamondback Energy is seeking an AI Developer to join its new AI team in Dallas. You will design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications and autonomous workflows using Claude, Azure OpenAI, Snowflake, and Databricks, delivering production-ready solutions across business domains.

The role emphasizes data pipelines, agentic systems, testing, governance, and rapid learning in a fast-evolving energy-tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, DS, engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years shipping software, data, or AI/ML in production.
• Strong Python proficiency with tested, maintainable code.
• Experience with SQL and at least one cloud data platform (Snowflake/Databricks).
• Experience with LLMs or AI APIs (Claude, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI).
• Fundamentals: Git, testing, CI/CD, design patterns.
• Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Willingness to learn new tools and adapt quickly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered applications and autonomous/multi-agent workflows using large language models (Claude, Azure OpenAI models via Azure AI Foundry, and others).
• Build and maintain data pipelines connecting Snowflake and Azure Databricks to AI/ML workflows (dbt), ensuring data is trusted and well-structured.
• Develop and orchestrate agentic systems using Claude Agent SDK and Azure Foundry, including tool use and RAG.
• Build evaluation harnesses and testing frameworks to measure model and agent quality, reliability, and safety.
• Rapidly prototype and evaluate emerging AI tools and frameworks; recommend adoption where they add value.
• Partner with data science, data engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to translate needs into production-ready solutions.
• Support responsible AI practices, including data privacy, access control, and governance.
