Job summary

Auction.com is seeking a hands-on AI Applications Engineer in Irvine to transform workflows with AI and automation. You will build AI-powered applications and agents using Claude, collaborating with Finance, HR, Legal, and other teams to identify high-impact opportunities.

You will deploy production-grade solutions, ensure security and governance, and stay ahead of emerging AI technologies to responsibly scale AI across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering or application development with hands-on AI/LLM solutions.
• Strong Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript skills.
• Experience with Claude/Anthropic APIs or comparable enterprise LLMs.
• Hands-on experience with RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, tool calling, and AI agents.
• Experience integrating APIs, databases, cloud services, and enterprise applications.
• Strong focus on security, privacy, and production deployment practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy AI-powered applications and workflows.
• Partner with Finance, HR, Legal, and other teams to identify AI opportunities.
• Develop solutions using LLMs, tool calls, and agentic workflows.
• Integrate AI capabilities with existing enterprise apps, databases, and SaaS platforms.
• Move prototypes into secure, production-ready applications.
• Implement human-in-the-loop controls, monitoring, and approvals for sensitive workflows.
• Coordinate with Security, Legal, and Compliance to meet governance requirements.
• Establish permissions, audit trails, and safeguards for AI processes.
• Measure impact by efficiency, accuracy, turnaround time, and user experience.
