EY seeks a highly skilled engineer to design and operate AI agents bridging deterministic and autonomous workflows. You will build durable, testable architectures, manage agent behavior, and ensure security and observability across complex enterprise integrations.

The role emphasizes long-running execution, careful control of authority, and collaboration with product and security teams to deliver reliable, scalable AI solutions with measurable business value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• 7–9 years of software or applied ML engineering experience with live systems.
• Hands-on shipping of large-language-model applications or complex model-driven workflows.
• Strong Python/TypeScript production service skills.

Responsibilities

• Choose the right execution model for deterministic vs. autonomous workflows.
• Build dependable tools with clear contracts and safe error handling.
• Engineer agent behavior including planning, routing, and handoffs.
• Create durable context with state, memory, and provenance.
• Bound agent authority with scoped identities and budgets.
• Evaluate complete trajectories with tests for verified outcomes.
• Operate long-running executions with durable state and safe retries.
• Make behavior observable with end‑to‑end tracing and replay.
• Protect user control with clear intervention points.
• Build shared capability by partnering across teams and publishing patterns.
