Job summary

The University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) invites applications for a UC Cooperative Extension Area Advisor for Agricultural Workforce Development at the assistant rank.

The advisor will develop an applied research and extension program to connect the agricultural workforce with emerging technologies in the northern San Joaquin Valley, including San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Merced counties.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant agricultural or environmental field.
• Experience with emerging technologies in agriculture.
• Experience designing workforce training for farm workers and related roles.
• Experience in applied research and extension programming.
• Familiarity with certification/credentialing in agriculture.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop applied research and extension program for agricultural workforce development.
• Evaluate strategies for connecting workers with emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with educators, engineers, regulatory agencies, and industry.
• Conduct workforce needs assessments and analyze regional tech adoption barriers.
• Provide outreach to community colleges, workforce boards, and stakeholders.
