Job summary

Sage Ag Inc. in Urbandale, IA is seeking a Precision Ag Product Engineer who will conduct software testing, assist in root cause analysis, and coordinate with product managers, developers, and engineers on a regular basis.

You will operate large agricultural equipment in test and field environments, develop test strategies, configure testing environments, run test cases, document results, and contribute to software usability feedback.

Qualifications

Minimum GPA of 2.5 in a technical field (e.g., Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Agricultural Systems Technology).
Experience working with electrical and mechanical systems.
Strong skills in troubleshooting software and technology.
Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork.
Ability to work and adapt in dynamic, fast paced environment.
Professional presentation and communication.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Positive attitude and ability to work independently or in a team.
Ability to keep accurate & detailed records of work performed.
Must have positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Operate large agricultural equipment in test & field environments.
Develop and deliver software test strategy and test plans for the systems under test.
Set up and configure software testing environments, including both automated and manual testing tools.
Execute software test cases to validate functionality and performance across various applications.
Record and analyze software test results, ensuring accurate documentation of findings.
Collect relevant data using engineering tools to help resolve the issue found during testing.
Collaborate with development teams to report and track software issues identified during testing.
Conduct software regression testing to ensure existing features function correctly after updates or changes.
Establish a deep understanding of agriculture technologies and application functionalities.
Participate in user acceptance testing to verify that software meets user requirements.
Provide feedback on software usability and performance based on testing outcomes.
