Job summary

Vylor is hiring an Agronomy Technician at the Hawaii Research Center on Kauai to support agronomy efforts and produce high-quality seed for research. The role involves crop protection, IPM, regulatory tasks, and equipment operation in a tropical field setting.

Responsibilities include operating spraying equipment, data entry, inventory management, and maintaining safety protocols. A HS diploma and 2–4 years of tropical ag experience are preferred; some roles require CDL and weekend/holiday work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years of tropical agriculture experience with IPM spray and farm equipment preferred.
• Proficient with computers; able to use Microsoft Office.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow instructions without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate spraying equipment with proper PPE and follow label directions.
• Perform backpack and bag spray.
• Assist with data entry in the Agronomy Databases.
• Assist with printing and posting WPS records.
• Assist with IPM chemical inventory management and tracking.
• Assist with spraying, chemigation, posting signs, cleaning equipment, replacing nozzles.
• Maintain all equipment in safe working condition.
• Ensure chemicals are applied according to labels.
• Maintain orderly chemical inventory and storage areas.
• Communicate with supervisor on spraying activities.
• Assist with deploying new IPM equipment and protocols.
• Participate in personal development and performance planning.
• Support IPM group activities and field volunteering.
