Job summary

The Arthur Companies, Inc. in Fargo, ND is seeking a Research Associate to join our wheat breeding and contract research teams. You will design and execute field trials, manage data collection, and support greenhouse and growth facility activities to advance crop science.

Ideal candidates bring 1–3+ years in agricultural research, strong analytical skills, and teamwork. CDL with med card and pesticide license are preferred, with travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Science, or related field.
• 1–3+ years of experience in agricultural research or field trials.
• CDL with med card or ability to obtain; pesticide applicator license.
• Ability to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, plant field trials to evaluate crop performance.
• Maintain research locations through herbicide application and agronomic practices.
• Collect data on plant growth, disease reactions, yield; hand harvest and sample prep.
• Manage temporary contract workers for busy, time-sensitive duties.
• Grow plants in a greenhouse for crossing and increases.
• Use statistical software to analyze results and provide recommendations.
• Integrate new technologies into research programs.
• Maintain seed inventory and ensure regulatory compliance.
