Job summary

Gateway FS in Christian County, Illinois, offers the Exploring Agriculture Internship in Agronomy Operations for Summer 2027. This internship provides hands-on field work, equipment operation, and crop scouting under location management to learn the FS and GROWMARK system.

You will gain experience in field operations, inventory control, and customer relationships while training to handle crop nutrition and protective products.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree or certification with good academic standing.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong communication and customer focus.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including overnight travel.
• Class B Non-CDL license eligibility to operate company vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on experience in agronomy field and operations.
• Assist with facility and equipment maintenance and repair.
• Visit FS locations and customers building professional relationships.
• Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology for scouting.
• Apply crop nutrition and crop protection products.
• Gains understanding of ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
