Job summary

Vylor, Inc. seeks a diligent Agronomy IPM Technician to execute open-field IPM plans, supervise seasonal workers, and maintain precise pest-control records. The role collaborates with Agronomy and IPM teams to ensure safe, compliant pest management in seed production programs.

The ideal candidate will lead pesticide applications, coordinate schedules, and uphold safety standards while adapting to dynamic field conditions. Fluency in Spanish and strong leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred in Agronomy, Crop Science, Entomology, Plant Protection, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will also be considered.
• 3 years of experience in agricultural research, seed production or commercial farming operations preferred.
• 2 years of experience supervising seasonal or temporary employees in the agricultural sector preferred.
• Experience managing agrochemicals, recognizing main pests of corn and soybean and familiar with scouting practices.
• Ability to perform dosage calculations, unit conversions, and other basic mathematical tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Power Apps, and digital data collection tools.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Fluent in spoken and written Spanish. Basic to intermediate English proficiency preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and creativity skills, especially attention to details.
• Able to work overtime, weekends and holidays when is required by the workload.
• Valid PR driver’s license, category 4 preferred
• Willing and able to occasionally lift, push, or carry up to 20‑50 lbs. of weight.
• Must be capable of working in varied ergonomic and in extreme environmental conditions for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily insecticide applications in open‑field environments using backpack sprayers and other specialized application equipment while adhering to safety guidelines and quality standards.
• Prepare and mix pesticides according to product labels, company procedures, Worker Protection Standards (WPS), and environmental regulations.
• Responsible for compliance with standard operational procedures to ensure quality and effective results of the pest control treatments.
• Schedule and coordinate pesticide applications while respecting restricted‑entry intervals (REI) and project timelines.
• Perform field inspections and evaluations to assess treatment effectiveness and pest control performance.
• Support mechanical and cultural pest management activities, including insect trapping, pest removal, and implementation of physical barriers.
• Supervise small and large groups of seasonal employees responsible for pesticide applications and related activities.
• Ensure personnel, equipment, and supplies are available and ready to support daily work plans.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment
• Maintain accurate records of pesticide applications and field activities using company software, Microsoft Office applications, and Power Apps.
• Keep storage facilities, application equipment, tools, and supplies in clean, organized, and operational condition.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs proactively.
• Ensure corporate vehicles, trailers, and equipment are maintained, cleaned, and ready for field

We are seeking a responsible, safety‑oriented, and highly motivated Agronomy IPM Technician to support our research and seed production programs. This role is responsible for the execution of the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy across open‑field operations to ensure crop protection activities are completed following methodology established on standards operation procedures (SOP), quality and safety standards, and in compliance with company local and federal laws if required it.

The IPM Technician plays a critical role in delivering high‑quality seed production by executing pest management activities, supervising seasonal employees, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating closely with the Agronomy Supervisor, Scouting, and IPM teams. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
