Job summary

Southern States Cooperative in Virginia is seeking a sales-focused agronomy professional to grow farm accounts and provide technical guidance to Growers/Producers. You will call on existing customers and prospects in our footprint, applying agronomic expertise and selling products and programs, with eligibility for a sales commission.

The role requires collaboration with management, field staff, and extension partners; strong communication, CRM use, and ability to travel up to 95%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in agronomy preferred; combination of training and experience may be considered.
3–5 years of agronomic sales experience preferable.
Experience with field scouting for agronomic recommendations.

Responsibilities

Solicit sales from customers, answer questions, and recommend best practices.
Coordinate sales efforts with management, develop prospect lists, and schedule deliveries.
Participate in local grower, USDA, and extension meetings.
Provide technical assistance on best management practices and crop protection products.
Maintain CRM records and report weekly sales calls.
Plan and coordinate commodity and grower meetings.
Promote company programs as sales tools.
Attend trainings and stay updated on industry trends.
